Musical Moments

7th, 8th & 9th November 2014 – Young prodigies

The Modigliani Quartet interprets Haydn - Extract filmed during the November 2008 Musical Moments.

The Hermitage Barrière’s Musical Moments is a special event appreciated by all. It is a regular meeting for music lovers and a huge success thanks to you, the harmonious backdrop, performers and the music of course! A truly unique moment.

This autumn’s Musical Moments includes the new generation’s most brilliant musicians for three marvellous days of music with their teachers. And their teachers are all top quality musicians in their own right: the Wanderer Trio, Jean-Marc Phillips Varjabédian, Raphaël Pidoux, Vincent Coq and pianist Claire Désert…
There will also be budding violinists, cellists, pianists and wind instrument players who will make up tomorrow’s elite. During the weekend you will witness the unique relationship between student and teacher and see how knowledge & skills are passed down.
In addition, you will have the pleasure of listening to a new ensemble from Tokyo, la Folle Journée Camerata, based on this wonderful type of relationship.
Pieces rarely heard in concert that have never been presented at the Musical Moments, such as Schubert’s magnificent Octuor or Beethoven’s rare Septuor will be played, plus classical pieces such as Dvorak’s quintets and Brahms trios…

It will be such a special moment that seeing the talents of tomorrow come to life in front of your eyes will linger long after, and you will forever be proud to say “I was there”.

The peaceful Hermitage Barrière***** opposite the Atlantic make up the perfect settings for chamber music. In addition to the wonderful relationships between the musicians is also the relationship they weave with the public thanks to the Hermitage’s intimate character and the warm & friendly dinners for the musicians and their public… There can be no better place than this lovely Anglo-Norman manor opposite the ocean to listen to music in complete peace.

The quality of the programme, top class service and relaxation also set the scene to this special musical weekend.
