Discover the town of Honfleur

Visiting Deauville is not limited to the seaside town. During your stay at the Hotel Normandy Barrière de Deauville, feel free to extend your walk to discover Honfleur. A lovely little fishing port, it’s known for its picturesque alleys, the medieval Church of Saint Catherine, the slate-roof houses, and the painters. No one ever gets tired of lying on the backdrop of this landscape full of nuances. The Eugène Boudin Museum, the Satie House and Museum, the Navy Museum, the Naturospace, La Forge , the landscaped gardens...

Honfleur, a town born for art

Monet, Eugène Boudin, Gustave Courbet and others from all schools of painting have always painted this place. They helped develop tourism in Deauville and Honfleur. The town is still full of artist workshops and galleries to delight the eyes. The Eugène Boudin Museum brings together many works by mostly contemporary painters with a passion for Honfleur.

Visit the Satie House and Museum, where several buildings are dedicated to painting, literature and, of course, the composer Erik Satie’s music, a native of Honfleur. The visit is a real staging that takes you into his unique eccentric world. At Naturospace, escape to a distant universe inhabited by a splendid variety of exotic butterflies. The “Jardin des Personnalités” (Garden of Fame) features busts of famous people that bland in with a 10-acre landscaped leisure garden. If you want to sunbathe, the Butin beach offers comfort; it’s located at the entrance of the town arriving from the coastal road. You will love the tiny lagoons formed in the sand.
